When it comes to the most fashionable districts in Shanghai, Xintiandi undoubtedly tops the list.
Strolling through Xintiandi
As a long-standing neighborhood in Shanghai, it has surpassed our expectations of being a great place to explore.
There are numerous options for a leisurely walk in Xintiandi, including Danshui Road, Fuxing Middle Road, Madang Road, and Sinan Road… Each small street has its own unique flavor.
If you’re in the mood for coffee, you can choose from a variety of specialty chains such as %Arabica, Peet’s, and Starbucks. Nearby, Hushui Roastery, Café Kitsune, and Pinky are also popular spots for a quick break. FASCINO, New York Bagel Museum, and La Repete always attract those with a sweet tooth.
Diptyque, Jo Malone, Aesop, and Le Labo are the go-to places for fragrance enthusiasts. Restaurants like The Refinery, The Odd Couple, and EP are always filled with people who enjoy a drink or two… The aroma of coffee, bread, wine, and ambiance has long captured the hearts of visitors in Xintiandi.
In Shanghai, there may be no better place than Xintiandi for hosting a wine festival in a slightly tipsy neighborhood. In recent years, Xintiandi has incubated the wine brand “The Bottle Project,” bringing Chinese wines with strong regional characteristics to a wide audience.
At the same time, it leads more people to understand the terroir and human touch behind Chinese wines and to taste the flavors grown on Chinese soil.
All these interesting experiences are initiated by “The Bottle Project”!
Panlong Boat Tour
“The Bottle Project” has moved the scene of Chinese wine tasting to the Jiangnan-style boats at Panlong Tiandi. From the visual scenery and collaborating brands to the selection of boat participants, the project integrates neo-Chinese aesthetics, showcasing the ancient charm and modern, youthful characteristics of Panlong Tiandi to the public.
The Bottle Project Lounge
This project, carefully designed by The Bottle Project in collaboration with the creative studio rainreinreign, has created a comfortable, inclusive, and experiential cultural living space at Xintiandi Style II.
The experience space includes a living room, kitchen, and guest room, bringing together Chinese wine offline experiences, food exhibitions, lifestyle boutiques, and unlimited creativity, thereby showcasing a unique Chinese lifestyle.
Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea
The Bottle Project released “The Hidden Labels – Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea” wine label series. Eight distinctive Chinese wines were selected, and eight artists and creators from different fields were invited to taste the wines and recreate the wine labels for these eight bottles.
These “new clothes” are a collaboration between wine and creativity, as well as a dialogue between winemakers and wine drinkers.
Cycling Treasure Hunt
Cycling Treasure Hunt is The Bottle Project’s initial attempt to combine wine and sports, promoting an organic lifestyle.
Through interesting segments such as cycling for wine, getting off the bike to hunt for treasures, and small tasting sharing sessions, it leads everyone to explore street scenes together and share their love and appreciation for wine.
Master Series | Chen Minghao Special Edition
“The Bottle Project · Master Series” aims to collaborate with respected masters from various fields who have outstanding influence and wide recognition. The “Chen Minghao Special Edition” incorporates wine into theater.
At the Aranya Theater Festival, it brings special limited editions of the Master Series to the opening play “Red,” the closing play “Romeo and Juliet by the Sea,” and the script reading sessions of “Macbeth” and “Bomba.”
The Bottle Project in Fuliang
The Bottle Project collaborates with the “Art in Fuliang” project to integrate Chinese wine and art in more diverse and rich forms. During the Fuliang Art Festival, it cooperated with Big Small Coffee for retro wine parties and retro dance parties.
At the same time, it initiated the “Strolling through Fuliang” event to discover Fuliang art. It also specially invited two local Chinese artists to recreate the wine labels of two Chinese wines for “Art in Fuliang.”
“The Bottle Project,” as a co-organizer of this event, together with Social Supply, brings a unique CRUSH Wine Festival at the end of autumn.
Wine Festival Beside the Shikumen
A three-day wine extravaganza is currently taking place at Xintiandi Style I. Nearly 30 wine merchants from around the world will guide everyone to explore the culture behind wine in a slightly tipsy atmosphere.
If you’re a wine novice, you can learn more about wine at CRUSH; if you’re a wine connoisseur, you can discover more styles to your liking at CRUSH.
Two Major Wine Tasting Bars
The outdoor bar features a selection of Chinese wines from “The Bottle Project.” If you have a preference for Chinese terroir wines, feel free to have an extra glass.
A “Chinese Wine Map” will refresh your understanding of local flavors.
The indoor CRUSH bar offers a selection of distinctive wines from around the world, with over a hundred wines from different regions and various flavors to taste at will.
Nearly 30 Brands, All in One Go!
Robin, which starts with high-quality wines; Taylor Trading, which brings premium South African wines to China; Taoniuling, a winery brand that combines boutique wine culture with a holiday lifestyle; and Wine Black Book, the only wine brand in China with its own team of wine critics and rating system… Nearly 30 domestic and international wine brands, all in one go.
At the CRUSH event, many wine brands have also brought exclusive designed peripherals, such as Simple Drinks’ phone cases, phone stands, and glass covers.
For this wine festival, chefs from the food and beverage industry, bar owners, sommeliers, and other wine connoisseurs have been invited to conduct exclusive wine tours, leading everyone to taste their favorite wines at the CRUSH event and explore the cultural stories behind the wines from different perspectives!
