The Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism has selected several representative spots from the “Best Places Near Home” voted by Shanghai residents over the years.
These spots have been curated into five different themed Citywalk routes, recommended for citizens and tourists to experience. Come and check them out!

1.Yunjian Granary Creative Park
Yunjian Granary, originally built as granaries and factories from the 1950s to the 1990s, has now been transformed into a new landmark of Songjiang’s creative park.
The park brings together art spaces, performance theaters, sports venues, retail shopping, fashionable dining, hotels, and hostels.
The most distinctive and iconic feature of the park is the massive silo graffiti “Guardians of the Rice Fields,” where four astronauts can be seen walking in the rice fields from afar, making it quite eye-catching.

2.Dacang Bridge Area
The 700-meter-long section of Zhongshan West Road (Yushu Road – Yongfeng Road) in the Cangcheng Historical and Cultural Area is the core section of the Cangcheng Historical and Cultural Area.
It is the best-preserved area in Songjiang, with the most cultural relics protection sites and the highest concentration of outstanding buildings, witnessing the thousand-year history of commercial civilization development in Songjiang Prefecture during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The old houses have been renovated and repurposed, allowing visitors to explore the traces of history in a leisurely atmosphere while strolling through Cangcheng.

3.Thames Town
Thames Town, located in the core area of Songjiang New City, covers a total construction area of 500,000 square meters. It stretches from Heiss Street in the east, Kent Street in the south, Kent Street in the west, and Soho Street and Burke Street in the north.
The stone paths are winding and well-connected, lined with British-style residences, churches, and castles, all adorned with exquisite sculptures of various shapes.
Today, Thames Town, which combines the unique cultural charm and aesthetic style of Shanghai, has become a shining business card of Songjiang.

4.Central Park
Located in Songjiang, Central Park is a large open green space with lush grass, flowing water, rolling slopes, and shady green trees. The park also features running tracks, waterfront paths, tree-lined paths, and walking trails, all well-constructed and diverse in style.

5.Sijing Ancient Town
Sijing Ancient Town has a history spanning a thousand years, with the town’s origins dating back to the Yuan Dynasty. It has been known as “the first of the eighteen towns east of the county.” In March 2023, Sijing Ancient Town officially opened its streets.
This ancient town, with its antique charm, has preserved the unique misty corridors and Ming and Qing dynasty architecture of the Jiangnan water towns. Every old house and residence with its gray bricks and black tiles tells a story and holds a piece of history.
