Discover Shanghai with Ease: The Newly Launched “SHANGHAI PASS” for International Visitors on China Tourism Day

SHANGHAI PASS

Shanghai has long been the preferred port of entry for inbound tourism in China. With the steady recovery of the inbound tourism market, Shanghai’s inbound tourism is seizing the opportunity and riding the momentum.

To create a high-level first stop for inbound tourism in China and better serve high-level opening-up, the “Shanghai Pass” product, developed by Shanghai Public Transportation Card Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiushi Group, was launched on May 19th, China Tourism Day, with the support and guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism.

Addressing the pain points of mobile payment difficulties and inconvenient reservations for inbound visitors, the revamped “Shanghai Pass” product boasts three major features and four advantages.

It effectively connects various consumption scenarios in the city, such as transportation, cultural and tourism venues, shopping malls, and supermarkets, further optimizing inbound payment services and enhancing payment convenience.

It is expected to become a new city calling card for Shanghai’s inbound tourism.

  2. Cross-scenario usage: It can be used for payment in the city’s public transportation, some tourist attractions, cultural and museum venues, shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience stores, and more. It also supports public transportation in more than 330 cities nationwide.
