Recently, a new round of 100 Shanghai performance spaces was announced, with nearly 17 new additions to the list. Among them are well-known venues such as the Shimao Plaza Star Space, INS Comedy Center, Xiaolehui Performance Space, Kaixin Mahua I Space, and Feisheng Shanghai. These additions bring even more diverse and colorful “great places to watch performances” to Shanghai.
Shimao Plaza Star Space
📍 7-8th Floor, 829 Nanjing East Road, Huangpu District
In September last year, the immersive drama brand “Star Space” unveiled its new look on the 7th and 8th floors of Shanghai Shimao Plaza. With a total area of about 4,000 square meters, it is divided into multiple small theaters of 200-300 square meters each. Most of the performances here are suspense and mystery dramas.
Dramas such as “The Void Cross,” “The Salvation of the Saint,” “The Newcomer,” “Dawn Street,” “The Non-Existent Dialogue,” and “The Lonely Gourmet’s Love Spoon” are all staged long-term in the Star Space here.
INS Comedy Center

The INS Comedy Center is located on the B1-1 level of the INS Revival Park.
This space is not limited to a single performing art form. In addition to stand-up comedy, it also features new-style crosstalk, sketch comedy, comedy magic, and improvisational comedy. The open space spans two floors and includes a rest area, private room area, and open seating area.
Xiaolehui Performance Space

Perhaps watching a performance and experiencing a story firsthand can be a bit tiring. You might prefer the chatty style of crosstalk, in which case you can go to the Xiaolehui Performance Space, founded by Guo Degang’s disciple Gao Hecai, to relax and laugh out loud!
Kaixin Mahua I Space

Located in Wujiaochang Hopson One, the Kaixin Mahua I Space caters to young audiences and presents light-hearted and humorous romantic works. The currently staged “One Wall Apart,” introduced from South Korea, not only brings a romantic and sweet atmosphere to the audience but also features a versatile actor who interacts with the audience, providing a rich viewing experience.
Feisheng Shanghai
