World Expo Museum
Situated along the Huangpu Riverside, the World Expo Museum is the only permanent official museum and documentation center authorized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). It is also Shanghai’s first truly international museum to date.
During the May Day holiday this year, the World Expo Museum will launch two major new exhibitions, offering visitors a fresh experience.
Foreign Porcelain and Chinese Splendor
Co-hosted by the World Expo Museum and the Art Museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the “Foreign Porcelain and Chinese Splendor” exhibition takes “Exchange, Integration, and Interaction” as its theme.
It emphasizes the unique attributes of Guangzhou enamelware, which blends Chinese and Western elements, showcasing the history of trade and cultural exchange between China and the world.
Here, you can see copper-based painted enamelware from the Qing Dynasty, represented by the reigns of Emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong.
European enamel glazes, Western human figures, Chinese painting techniques, and Oriental porcelain decorations converge on a single piece of Guangzhou enamelware.
“Chinese Shadow Puppetry”
Light and Shadow Art Exhibition
Starting from May 1st, Light Court joins hands with the World Expo Museum to take you on a journey through time and create a dream “Utopia” with the “Chinese Shadow Puppetry” Light and Shadow Art Exhibition. Let the “paper figures” from traditional Chinese art lead you on a dream adventure!
With a ceiling height of 7 meters and an area of 1,500 square meters, the massive exhibition hall will provide visitors with a unique feast for the senses. No matter where you stand, you can enjoy an exceptional audiovisual experience.
The organizers conducted in-depth research on the over 10,000 collections in the Folk Shadow Puppetry Art Museum and successfully captured ultra-high-definition images of more than 3,000 precious shadow puppetry artifacts.

From April 30th to May 4th, Sinan Mansions will launch the “Beauty in Huangpu | Sinan Beautiful Bookstore Festival · Coffee Season,” which kicks off Sinan Mansions’ large-scale offline events for 2024. Sinan Mansions extends the concept of the Beautiful Bookstore Festival and expands to create a Coffee Season.
The venue will feature a beautiful pop-up bookstore within a standalone villa, a beautiful lifestyle market with the theme of “reading and coffee,” a villa jazz concert jointly presented with top domestic jazz brands, and an immersive literary exhibition.

Huangpu Riverside Skateboarding Extreme Park
Located on the east side of the Yuanwang (Gaze Afar) at Huangpu Riverside, the Huangpu Riverside Skateboarding Extreme Park was once the site of the Jiangnan Shipyard. The park is built within a ship dock with a history of over 100 years.
