Chuanbiyan, in terms of landform, is known as a sea-eroded arch bridge, which is an extremely peculiar sea-eroded landform. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday. Immersing yourself in this environment, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to the breathtaking beauty of Bali without even leaving the country.

This is a hidden gem travel destination that many Shenzhen residents are unaware of.

There are two main areas to explore:


📍Chuanbiyan

🌟Beach opening hours: 8:30~22:00

💰Ticket: Chuanbiyan is free, while Dongchong Beach charges 30 RMB per person.

Chuanbiyan, named after its resemblance to an elephant’s trunk extending from the land into the sea, presents a myriad of postures. From every angle, you can observe its different appearances. It is a niche and hidden treasure that never disappoints.

🔴It is recommended to visit after the tide recedes around 4-5 pm and avoid going alone.

The cave walls are surrounded by reefs, close to the deep sea area, making it thrilling and exciting. However, prioritize safety while exploring.

Don’t stay inside the cave for too long, as the rocks can be slippery, and there is a risk of falling rocks.

Along the way to Chuanbiyan, the scenery is also beautiful. You can see the crystal-clear, sapphire-like “Glass Sea,” which is incredibly soothing to the soul.

As Dongchong Beach is not fully developed, transportation is not very convenient. Driving is recommended for easier access, and you can navigate to Chuanbiyan.

For those traveling from afar, you can take the high-speed train to Shenzhen and then rent a car to reach the destination conveniently.

The parking lot is a 10-minute walk from the scenic spot, and there are very few people around, so it’s advisable to go with companions if you’re timid.


📍Observatory/Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark

The observatory, situated at an altitude of 224 meters, faces the sea. You can gaze into the distance, taking in the vast expanse of the ocean, which is truly refreshing and liberating. Standing there, overlooking the boundless sea, all your troubles seem to disappear.

🌟Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00~17:30 (Closed on Mondays for regular maintenance.)

💰Ticket: Free. Reservations open at 10 am every Monday. If you wish to visit the observatory building, comprehensive section, popular science exhibition hall, or the observatory plank road, advance booking is required.
