Huangpu Pier (Former Site)

Between 1919 and 1920, six groups of students successively boarded ships at Huangpu Pier to study in France, including revolutionary forerunners such as Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Nie Rongzhen, and Cai Hesen. Visitors can explore the Original Aspiration Departure Exhibition Hall and check in at the bas-relief wall depicting the Diligent Work-Frugal Study Movement in France, looking back at the momentous years.

Maoma Warehouse

The Maoma Warehouse was built in 1920 and served as Shanghai’s First Silk Factory after the founding of New China. Next to the Yangshupu Water Plant, the wooden plank bridge is 535 meters long and 4 to 13 meters wide. Using an abstract boat-shaped structure as the prototype and warm wood as the bridge deck, combined with historical relics, ecological greenery, and craft processes, the light bridge is suspended on the structural columns of the pollution barrier net.

Rain Garden

Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park

The Yangshupu Power Plant was once the largest thermal power plant in the Far East and was known as the “Cradle of China’s Electric Power Industry.” The Power Plant Ruins Park preserves and presents the remnants of columns and foundations of the coal processing workshop complex of the original Yangshupu Power Plant, as well as a large number of industrial relics and production process clues outside the flood wall, leaving indelible historical traces.

Green Hill

Green Hill, formerly the Shanghai Haiyan Machine Repair Factory warehouse built in 1995, underwent volume reduction and crossed the road during the renovation process, integrating pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Through technical measures such as vertical greening on the roof, a staggered “sky garden” is formed, making the building itself a part of the waterfront landscape. With lush greenery all around, it looks like a green hill from afar, achieving the transformation from an industrial building to a green ecological building.
