Tank Art Park

West Bund Riverside Fairy Tale Flower Sea

Shanghai Flower Paradises

The memory of Tank Art Park’s dreamy pink baby’s breath going viral last year is still fresh, and this spring, the park has once again bloomed into a cartoon-like icy blue ocean, with the flowering period set to last until the height of summer.

The blue and white Shirley poppies interspersed with warm-toned Iceland poppies form the current main color scheme around the Tank Art Center, as if the spring palette has been spilled. Against the blue sky and white clouds, every shot is a painting.

“Flower paths” have been left between the flower fields, utilizing height differences for more layered flower field photos; more importantly, there aren’t many people here, so there’s no need to fight for spots, making it easy to take great shots!

The green lawns on the riverside are also designated tent areas, perfect for relaxing, chasing and playing with puppies, and having picnics with friends.

Inside the Tank Art Center, two major solo exhibitions, “Octopus Mountain” and “The Vanishing Circus,” are currently underway. While viewing the flowers, why not also check them out? Currently, the 2024 Shanghai (International) Flower Expo is also decorating the entire West Bund into a floral feast. Come for the flowers and leave with a heart full of joy.

Fuxing Park

Shanghai’s Version of “The Little Prince’s Rose Garden”

Shanghai Flower Paradises

As one of the earliest parks built in Shanghai and currently the only well-preserved French-style garden in China, Fuxing Park, located in the city center, is truly photogenic!

Fuxing Park’s rose garden is currently in full bloom. Sitting under the fountain in Fuxing Park feels like walking into the Tuileries Garden in Paris, with the rose garden under the sun providing enough photo opportunities for an entire afternoon.

The park also features the Spring Plaza, Marx Plaza, sunken flowerbeds, north-south avenues, large lawns, Chinese gardens, waterside corridors, rockery waterfalls, and old French park pavilions, among other spots.

Every frame comes with a French movie filter, allowing you to experience getting lost in Paris while in Shanghai.

Address: 516 Fuxing Middle Road, Huangpu District

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 5:00-21:00

Yangpu Riverside Rose Wall

Romantic Winds Blow to the Industrial-Style Riverside

Shanghai Flower Paradises

Yangpu Riverside is known for its industrial heritage, but the rose wall next to the rain garden section injects a touch of romance into this riverside that has transformed from an “industrial rust belt.” Every year from late April to May, during the rose season, it always goes viral on social media.

The interesting thing is that both sides are photogenic – the inner side has flower branches entwined with fences at human height, making it easy to capture the entire flower wall background; the riverside side has a “roses out of the wall” effect, within arm’s reach.

A floral dress or a bicycle gives off the vibe of a romantic drama.

South Bund Bridge Rose Garden

Eden Under the Riverside Bridge

Shanghai Flower Paradises

The rose garden in the public area of the South Bund Bridge on the Pudong side of the river has also become popular!

On one side of the lens is the South Bund Bridge, and on the other side is the Lujiazui trio. The magnificent rose garden amidst the concrete jungle adds a stunning touch to the South Bund Citywalk.

This rose garden is part of the riverside open park and, although not large, the garden design is very thoughtful.

The roses bloom gradually, with varying heights and a colorful arch forming a dreamy rose tunnel. Coupled with the open riverside view, it’s impossible to take a bad photo.

Address: Near the parking lot of the South Bund Riverside Cultural and Sports Leisure Park, Dongjiang Cultural and Sports Park

Opening hours: Open all day

Huangpu Riverside Angela Rose Garden

Secret Garden Under Lupu Bridge

Shanghai Flower Paradises

Across the river from the South Bund Bridge Rose Garden, under the Lupu Bridge, a whole patch of pink Angela roses and a rose garden have also bloomed along Juménlù on the Huangpu Riverside.

To capture a grand view, you can use the Mercedes-Benz Arena across the river and the cross-river Lupu Bridge as the backdrop; to capture a fairy tale story feel, the white European-style palace of the Arai Eden Wedding Club behind is an excellent background.

Compared to the area under the South Bund Bridge, there are more roses here with a richer variety, forming a taller “background wall” for the flower field, naturally providing more angles for photos. With few people and beautiful scenery, ladies must come here.
